A new law has been announced in the Philippines, that obliges students to plant at least 10 trees to graduate. The Philippines are moving to a more eco friendly and sustainable economy, like for example Palawan forbidding plastic bottles or even the big cleaning action in Boracay.
The Philippines is one of the most severely deforested countries in the world. In the last century the forest cover has dropped from 70% to 20%. Today, the Philippines takes active measures to change this. It is estimated that this measure will end un up in 525 billion trees being planted in one generation.
Another great forward looking initiative coming from the Philippines.
